Is shipping or tax included?Updated 7 days ago

Yes, in select states, we are required to collect sales tax.

The Finer Things 1920® has begun sales tax on applicable purchases. We’ve recently met what’s called economic nexus in several states, which means we’re now required by law to collect and remit sales tax to those states.

The states where we collect tax are as follows:

South Carolina, Illinois, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee,  Florida, and Louisiana.

What does this mean?
Economic nexus is a standard that requires a business to collect and remit sales tax in a state once it reaches a certain level of sales or transactions there, even if the business doesn’t have a physical location in that state. This standard was established by the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2018 decision in South Dakota v. Wayfair, Inc., which allows states to enforce tax collection based on economic activity.

Each state sets its own specific thresholds. Once we meet that threshold, we’re obligated to collect and turn over sales tax just like local businesses do.

The shipping cost is $15.00 per box.
